ALESZANDRIA ARIEL BERRELEZ – 7/26/2011

Alie Berrelez

Alie Berrelez: Berrelez was playing with her baby brother in front of her familys Englewood Apartment Complex when she was kidnapped May 18, 1993. The Police searched the Metro Area for 4 days before Yogi, a bloodhound, led police to the girls body near Deer Creek Canyon. Alies body was placed in a duffel bag and dumped into a ravine. Police questioned suspect Nicholas R. Stofer but later released him and cleared of suspicion. The pain a mother feels when her child is taken and murdered is vast, there is no end to the grief, no matter how much time goes by. Today, Marivel Berrelez speaks for her little girl, she is the voice beyond the grave who seeks justice and answers. The Alie Foundation, an advocacy group that buys bloodhounds for police departments was created in her honor.

WHERE IS LOUIE MILITO? – 7/26/2011

Louie Milito

The seamy world of the Gambino crime family first took book form thanks to notorious turncoat Salvatore “Sammy the Bull” Gravano, who told his story to Peter Maas for the 1997 Underboss. Lynda Milito, the long-suffering wife of Sammy’s partner Louie Milito (murdered in 1988 under Sammy’s orders, Lynda maintains, though Sammy “told the feds it was John Gotti’s idea”), now tells her own tale of the mob life, as seen from the home front. Hers is not a glamorous account: she documents her husband’s rise from a petty crook who robbed pay phones to a “straightened out” tough who became a captain with the Gambinos. The grinding monotony and terrible strife of her existence-struggling to make money legitimately while her husband languished in jail, trying to protect her son from bullies, coping with terrible physical abuse-is chilling. The image-conscious “wiseguys” that formed her social circle (and who are rather hilariously obsessed with The Godfather) become pitiable figures, trapped in a cycle of murder and deceit.

Now Lynda Milito seeks Psychic Gale St. John in search for the truth about what happened to her husband Louie.

‘Michael is grounded, silent powerhouse and so intelligent & rational’

‘One of my oldest friends. We didn’t meet often, we didn’t communicate often, but he is always there. Each time we meet, it is like we never lost touch’

‘Every year since I’ve known him we’ve watched the oscar’s together, mind you, it runs from 2am to 6am on a Sunday night! And we would still drag ourselves in to work on Monday morning.’

DIANA MONTANE 7/8/2011

Diana Montane

I didn’t set out to be a writer but can now attest to the inevitability of that beckoning and mysterious calling.

When I was a little girl I wanted to be a vet, but since I couldn’t stand to see an animal in pain, that translated into caring for my own pets, –all of them rescue– and activism.

I became an actress. But since I don’t play well with others, I became a director. The best part of acting, for me, was the rehearsal and exploration process; I didn’t much care for being on stage.  Writing does allow you the time and clearance to explore in depth.

Of course, an editor can cramp the exploratory work, but I have been blessed with a handful of editors who are mindful of the creative process, and to them I remain most thankful. I also want to express my gratitude to recording artist extraordinaire, the wonderful IreneB, for building this website. Check out her music on one of her links here!

Well, I hope that you enjoy my journey… I am.

And if any of you writers out there are inspired to join our blog, to address, to vent, to inspire, to teach or just to share, do send your thoughts. I shall always care for what you are thinking…

Diana
