After graduating from the University of Miami, Susset Cabrera decided to create a blog that would feature and announce happening events in town. As a result, Miami Beats & Sazon was conceptualized and developed in December 2009 to inspire her community to attend local events, learn about new designers or become involved with philanthropic organizations. Susset’s style is to keep posts short and sweet; yet, informative when appropriate. Miami Beats & Sazon focuses on Miami’s hottest celebrities, galas, charities, designers, boutiques and socialites. The word sazon reflects Miami’s flavor so you can expect to read about events that make our city shine! When asked about her blog, Susset urges readers to “feel my beats and indulge in my sazon.”

Dave is a New York City based singer songwriter. He was raised in Puerto Rico and currently performs his mesmerizing version of polyglot Spanish and English rock and reggae songs in clubs around New York City. He has just released his new album of Spanish Rock songs called “Cuentos de la Porta Del Sol (Capitulo Uno); available on iTunes and other online outlets. Dave is a New York City based singer/songwriter. His work is characterized by island-tinged rock rhythms underpinning consistently mesmerizing pop/rock songs. He is joined in the studio and onstage by a roving group of musicians that go by the name the “Mojo Conga Jam”. Regular members of the “MCJ” include David Patterson on guitar (alumnus of Atlanta Singer/songwriter Shaun Mullins and the Indigo Girls), David Gomez on percussion (internationally acclaimed Latin Jazz percussionist and Hiram Bullock/Omar Hakim collaborator), and various other luminaries of the NYC music scene. Dave incorporates varied rhythms into his writing, including reggae, rock and salsa, to name a few. The end results are sometimes playful, sometimes soulful, sometimes down-right rockin’, but always evocative tunes that the NYC crowd has begun to call “rhythmic rock”. Dave grew up in Puerto Rico and incorporates Spanish into many of his songs along with the random Hebrew rap and snippets of Yoruba chanting. His songs have appeared on television shows, feature films and international DVD releases and have been played on the radio all around the world. He has also worked with such stars at Richie Havens and has pitched songs to internationally acclaimed artists including Norah Jones and Carlos Santana.

Hudson County NJ. was an amazing place to grow up in and attend school. Many of us remember when Ron Howard, the Fonz, Joanie and others were on Happy Days. We also enjoyed Laverne and Shirley, the great film “Saturday Night Fever” with John Travolta. Farrah Fawcett and the other angels. Gladys Knights and the Pips, Barry White, Michael Jackson and the Jackson Five, Elton John, Tony Orlando and Dawn. The famous duets Donny and Marie and Sonny and Cher. The heart throb Tony De Franco and shows like Brady Bunch to name a few of what our culture was like back in the day. We will reminisce about this little piece of Heaven on Earth that made our Neighborhood. The place we love so much and for many of us, after thirty years are not able to forget. Jiannell Tavarez swings by Cubanarama to talk about the third Hudson County Reunion and future plans for the Fourth Year. We are proud to be from Hudson County.

Julio has toured Puerto Rico, Mexico, the Caribbean islands and has shared the stage with great masters of Cuban Music. His musical repertoire will remind of yesterday’s music but will also help you look to the future and feel the “The Heart of the Cuban Music”

As a native Colombian raised in Miami, Ria has been performing since the age of 3. Her musical childhood consisted of private training, recitals, concerts, and various talent shows around town. At age 17, she was granted a scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. While at Berklee, her performance and songwriting talents where not only admired, but also further cultivated. She shared the stage with Grammy winners such as all time Jazz vocalist and musical theater icon Dee Dee Bridgewater, renowned salsa icon Ruben Blades and legendary female rock artist Melissa Ethridge. After completing her Bachelors in Songwriting and Performance at Berklee, Ria began to work on her first debut album. She then returned to Miami and quickly began to create a buzz with her song “Change” which placed her on TV and a national radio by 2008. She has recently released her contagious first CD single “Alright”, which has already begun to hit airwaves and has quickly taken over the international market. She is due to release her self-titled album—RIA, for summer of 2010.
